Q: What are you most excited for this season?
A: To be out there again! I'm happy I had a summer without injuries, in the past I had a lot of injuries which stopped me from participating in many competitions. Now it's hopefully the second season I can compete the whole season, and I think that's the most exciting part that I'm healthy and just enjoying what I'm doing and hopefully even more medals will follow.
Q: What are your goals for the season?
A: To get more medals, hopefully have higher points in my short and free program. That's the motivation!
Q: Tell us the best moment in your career so far?
A: I have two moments, because I've been out of competition for one and a half years in the past. The comeback when I had a really strong short program and completion in Budapest, it was one of the most emotional competitions. At that time I wasn't sure if I would ever be on this level again, but I showed that I could and it was great. Also at Montpellier for the World Championships in 2022, because I was injured and struggling with a lot of pain, I think if the competition was a day or two later I would've had to withdraw but I pushed through, never gave up and it paid off. That's the most amazing part!
Q: What is your favourite Chique Sport item?
A: That's a tough question because there are lots! I love the Empower Leotard in every colour.
Q: Which skates do you wear?
A: I wear Edea Ice Fly with John Wilson Revolution Blades.
Q: How do you keep your nerves under control when competing?
A: It's hard because I always have a lot of nerves, it's normal. I think if you have a good practice before, you're confident about yourself and the training went well, good nerves are there to get a better result!
Q: How old were you when you started skating?
A: I was 4!
Q: What is your favourite thing about being a Chique Sport Ambassador?
A: To wear the clothes of course! I love to promote them, they are really comfortable. It is perfect for skating, the clothing is thin but also warm and we need it in Belgium - the ice rinks are cold! They are stretchy so I can be flexible on and off the ice.
